FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Do you have a few tips for the beginner?
Anyone can win, and has. However, you can enhance your chances by
following a few simple guidelines regarding the seeding.
1 is the highest seed level, 16 the lowest.
No 16 seed has ever won a game in the tournament, period.
15 to 13 seed teams might on rare occasion win their first game.
Teams at levels 12 to 5 are fairly competitive with each other. Upsets are frequent at these seed levels.
4 to 2 seeds are a notch better than 12 to 5, and are fairly evenly matched.
1 seeds are a cut above the rest. They play lesser competition as they progress through the tournament,
and are the very best teams to begin with, so they tend to go far.
Finally, while there are always upsets in the tournament, a strategy of picking many upsets rarely wins.
Stick to the higher seeded teams when in doubt about a win.
